2015 Queen’s Advantage Chardonnay

Deep, rocky soils and old, gnarly vines (planted in the early 1970’s) combine to create a wine with an intense bouquet of passion fruit, papaya and lemon blossom. The palate explodes in the mouth, being round and fleshy, yet silky all at the same time.

Combret Vineyard

Southwest of the town of Oliver, this vineyard contains some of the oldest Chardonnay plantings in Canada. Located beneath Mt. Kobau and the Thompson Plateau, these vines are approaching 50 years of age. Of unknown origin, the vines are an extraordinarily distinctive Chardonnay clone named Dekleva in honour of the family who planted this vineyard.

This single-vineyard selection is from a Golden Mile Bench site that purports to have the region's oldest Chardonnay vines, planted in the early 1970s. Some 43% was put through a wild ferment, and all the wine spent 16 months in French oak, half of it new. It's a creamy, lush style, with butter cookie goodness around ripe fruit flavors of melon and pear tart.

94 Points, Paul Gregutt - Wine Enthusiast Managzine

The nose and palate will wow with a purity of floral fruit from lemons, tropical papaya and pears, washed in wet stones. It is the layering of flavours that wow, as does the intenisty and length of the finish. An outstanding effort.

94 Points, Anthony Gismondi

The wine begins with intense aromas of tropical fruits that are echoed on the rich and satisfying palate.
